On November 1st 2006 Epoch Imports Inc was born. Owner Todd Buhler started the company with three wineries and a brewery. Epoch now represents ten new and different wineries, along with the same microbrewery from BC. Todd started off in the wine and liquor industry with Diageo in 2004; shortly thereafter, he moved to Tiger Eye Agencies. After nearly two years at Tiger Eye, Todd branched off, building his own company and stellar reputation.
Todd enjoys every aspect of his job but his favourite part is giving those weekend and evening tastings. He admits it’s like a hobby. Todd likes talking to all different kinds of people about their varied tastes and choices in wine and beer. “Every person has different tastes. So, it’s neat to see what people like and don’t like,” he says.
With a small portfolio, Epoch Imports has been able to quickly adapt to Alberta’s market and economic changes. We are also able to give the same amount of time and attention needed to increase the exposure of all products in our portfolio.
Our sales team currently has their level 2 WSET (Wine Service Education Certificate). We can do blind tastings, without any knowledge of the grape involved in the wine! We are looking to add several new products in the coming months so keep checking the “Coming Soon” section for more information.
